Homecoming:
Another great Homecoming! We had the Alumni Breakfast as usual with
Ms. Dorothy, Mr. Cahill and Chip Cahill doing the cooking. Mrs. Cahill was
hobbling along with a broken ankle so she was no help, not even with picture
taking. Thanks to Clay Cornette who filled in as photographer. |

Class of 1999

Congratulations to many members of
the Cahill Cass of '99 who are graduating from college this year!
And special congratulations
to Bobby Ragsdale
and Meghan Jorgenson
who are getting married on June 10, 2007. They got together to catch up over
Thanksgiving last year and realized how much they had missed seeing each
other. Bobby came back for Christmas, they were engaged by January, and set
the date for a short engagement.
Bobby and
Colin Robb
will both graduate this May. Big congrats to both of them for their
outstanding accomplishment of graduating from West Point. Bobby will be in
the Armor division. |

Bobby Ragsdale and
Colin Robb: Among the Louisiana cadets and midshipmen attending the
2004 Service Academy Holiday Reception at the D-Day Museum on
Sunday, December 26th, were two Arden Cahill Academy graduates.
Cadet Corporal Bobby
Ragsdale and Cadet Corporal Colin Robb, both members of the United
States Military Academy's class of 2007, graduated from Arden Cahill
Academy in 1999. Ragsdale attended Isidore Newman High School, and
Robb attended De La Salle High School, graduating in 2003. Both
participated in high school athletics as well as various service and
honor clubs, continuing what they had started at ACA.
They were
accepted to the United States Military Academy after being nominated
by both of Louisiana's Senators, John Breaux and Mary Landrieu, as
well as by their
individual congressmen. Robb also received a Presidential
nomination.
They began their West Point experience on "R-Day" in June of
2003. The rest of that summer was spent at what is affectionately
known as "Beast," or summer physical training. Both became full
members of the Academy upon successful completion of their summer
training in August, 2003.
As is common at
West Point, the two Louisiana cadets are in different companies:
Ragsdale is in company D, 3rd Regiment, and Robb is in Company F,
4th Regiment. Ragsdale serves as the 2007 Class Historian. They
attend academic classes during the school year, and participate in
full-time military training during their summers. As Yearlings
[sophomores], they had to declare their majors this past September.
Ragsdale is majoring in Political Science, and Robb will major in
French and Portuguese.
Both cadets will
participate in more specialized training this summer. The cadets
will put in bids for several schools geared towards their desired
field of specialty after graduating in '07. Ragsdale is considering
the Close Quarters Combat School and detail, or perhaps Sapper
School. Robb would like to take part in the Special Forces
Assessment and Selection School, and/or Airborne School.
Both cadets
credit their early days at the Gretna school for carrying them along
their chosen paths. "I look back at my time before West Point, and I
know the discipline, study habits, and organization I learned at
Arden Cahill Academy have helped me to succeed here. ACA gave me a
focus, a determined mind set, and the motivation to excel in all my
endeavors," said Robb. |
