Duke University Talent
Identification Program (September 2007)
Congratulations to our 7th
graders who have qualified for the Duke University Talent Identification
Program. The Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) is a
non-profit educational organization established with the premise that the
future of this nation depends upon the fullest development of our best
intellectual resources. The objectives of the program are therefore to
identify the very bright among our youngsters at an early age; to facilitate
the education of these students; to follow and nurture their talent through
the critical middle and high school years; and to develop an effective
research effort to help understand the nature of academically talented
adolescents. In order to be eligible for this program the student must be in
7th grade and have scored in the upper 5 percent of national age-grade norms
on specific areas of their 5th or 6th grade Stanford Achievement Test. These
students will now be eligible to take one of the college entrance tests
during their 7th grade year. Again, we would like to extend our sincere
congratulations to the following 7th graders who have earned this honor:
